2015 Liege Bastogne Liege trip

24th April to 26th April 2015

Hurry just two places left on our trip to ride the Liege Bastogne Liege.

The Trip

The oldest cycling classic often called the "La Doyenne" is the Liege Bastogne Liege race.

First held in 1892 as an amateur event a professional edition followed in 1894. It is regarded as the toughest Classc race due to the long climbs with most of them being pretty steep.

We will be watching the race on the Sunday and also riding the cyclosportive on the Saturday. We prefer not to take too many on our trips abroad so that we can make sure everybody is looked after well.

We have a maximum of 12 on this trip so you are advised to get your deposit in quickly to gaurantee your place.  There are now only 2 place left.

The Courses

Most riders choose to ride the 103 miles (167km) Route. But there is the option to ride either the 52 miles (85 km) or the professional distance of 173 miles (279 km) route.

The 103 mile (167 km) route has the majority of the classic climbs and is hard enough for most amateurs. So far everybody on the trip will be riding the 103 mile route.

We will first book into our Hotel then go into the centre of Liege to pick up our race numbers etc.

Saturday 25th April 2015

Early breakfast in our hotel before being transfered to the start area. Most of us will then attempt the 103 mile route. See Riders pack for details Click here

Sunday 26th April 2015

Early Breakfast then riders have a choice of what we can do on the day. there are lots of options.

From our expericence it does depend on the weather what the best plan of action is on how we watch the Pro Race.

The La Redoute Climb is where we will definitely aim to go and watch and we may also get the chance to watch in other areas too such as the start  or one of the first climbs.

After the race we will be travelling back to Calais to catch the  euro tunnel train back to the UK. It can take 4 hours to get back to Calais after the race. We aim to be back in Brighton by 11pm or sooner. Although this will be dependent on how many people we are dropping off. We will aim to drop people off at the homes if possible.
